marinabrid Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 hi again, after spending 5 hours changing the glow plug and it not firing up i wonder if its got disabled by the ecu as it appears on here that after 5 non starts that is what happens, in that case would i still be getting the voltage readings on the block connector on the aux heater unitthe wires are showing 14 volts with engine running , would the voltage be there is it had been disabled ? the thing is totally dead but with lives going in to it. thanks Quote
Masked Marauder Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Yes the voltage would be there. The heater has it's own controller on board and there is nothing in between it and the power supplies to stop it. Quote
marinabrid Posted December 29, 2005 Author Report Posted December 29, 2005 thanks m.m i shall get it decoded next week ands try again. Quote
GSMGuy Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Martin - 5 hours???? Yep you are right though, after 5 failed attempts the ECU blocks it firing up... you could always leave the battery disconnected overnight to clear the fault.... (I think ithis still works..) Mike Quote

Masked Marauder Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 This any good for you lot? or this? may help you MM in your quest for a remote timer kit? I have on my desk a 12 volt pump, a timer and a relay. I just need to build a circut to amplify the timer output from 2uA to something that can switch a relay. Then I will have all I need and it will have cost about Quote
